Meal Service Continuity Plan

The Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson Meal Service Continuity Plan is designed to provide students with continued access to meal service that aligns to the requirements of the food service program and as detailed by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture.
The Meal Service Continuity Plan will address the following:
- Logistical Coordination of Meal Delivery
- Staff Roles
- Communication Plan for Dissemination of Meal Availability to Families
Logistical Coordination of Meal Delivery | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
In the event of a mandated school closure, Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson will participate in the Paterson Public School meal distribution plan which includes twice-weekly distribution of meals by ward within Paterson, NJ on Mondays and Wednesday from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm:

Staff Roles | |
Food Service Staff | Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson will provide, at minimum, three volunteers daily to support at one of the ward-based meal distribution centers. Staff will report to the distribution center Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am and support with set-up and service until 1:00pm. |
Director of School Operations | In the event a staff member is unable to attend their assigned shift, the Director of School Operations will be responsible for coordinating a substitute to ensure we meet the requirement of providing three volunteers daily. |

In the event of a mandated school closure, we will communicate with our families through established communication channels which include:
We have sent home surveys and flyers to ensure that families have access to our school-wide messaging systems and have sent home printed plans to all families that detail the plan above. |
